| Josh Simpson '72 to Discuss Art of Glass in Feb. 9 Lecture Noted artist and Hamilton alumnus Josh Simpson ’72 will talk about the Emerson Gallery exhibit of his work, From 60,000 Miles Away: The Glass Galaxies of Josh Simpson, on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 4:15 p.m. in the Science Center’s Kennedy Auditorium. In addition to being a renowned blown-glass artist, Simpson served as president of the Glass Art Society. His pieces, which are inspired by the natural world, are celebrated internationally for their complexity and beauty. His talk will be followed by a reception. |

| Photographer Tim Davis Focuses on Audience in Hamilton Lecture In an introduction to the Feb. 3 lecture on Tim Davis’ photography, Visiting Assistant Professor of Art Kathryn Parker Almanas skipped nearly all customary information in favor of presenting the audience with eight simple facts about the artist. These included his talent for skipping faster than he can run and playing ukulele. Though such random pieces of trivia may seem irrelevant to a professional discussion about photographs, they could not have served as a better preface to Davis’ character. |
